Bollywood actress is the latest to fall prey to being photoshopped online

It's the kind of thing that'd demand your attention at first glance.

And then the realisation sets in. That possibly couldn't be Vidya Balan in a black bikini on the cover of a men's magazine.

The No One Killed Jessica actress is the latest to fall prey to being photoshopped online. The picture you see alongside is doing the rounds of the internet is a doctored one.

There are quite a few loopholes that give the hoax away.

For one, Vidya hasn't been in town for some time now and is out of the country. Two, those close to the actress have denied that she ever did such a photoshoot.

Three, the magazine in question deny that the actress is on any cover of theirs so far. Lastly, and most importantly, it's marked as an 'Annual 2011" issue. Interesting, given that the year has only just begun.

Morphed pictures of Sonakshi Sinha in a bikini on the cover of a men's magazine did the rounds online in December. The actress had denied that it was her.

In 2006, South actress Khushboo was seen in a red transparent bikini. She filed a police complaint against the magazine.

In 2009, Celina Jaitly had filed a case against a gadgets blog and a Bollywood portal for uploading obscene morphed picture of hers online.

LONDON – Poor Kate Middleton. She's not just marrying a future king. She's marrying all of us.
Once upon a time, British subjects gazed upon their sovereigns from afar. Not any more.
Members of the royal family are now Hollywood-style mega-celebrities — their cellulite, receding hairlines and boozy nights out subject to the same relentless scrutiny as other A-listers.
The monarchy has gained in star power, and perhaps lost in dignity, since William's mother, Princess Diana, burst into the royal family in a blonde blaze of charisma and changed it forever.
On British newsstands ahead of Friday's wedding, Kate and William beam from the covers of celebrity magazines alongside Catherine Zeta-Jones, singer Cheryl Cole and surgically altered glamour model Katie Price. One promises the inside scoop on "Royal Wedding Meltdowns!" Another says that "Pals Fear for Skinny Kate." The royal couple is even on the cover of TV Times — the wedding will be the television event of the year.
It's easy to forget that it was not always like this.
"When I was growing up I thought the royal family was harmless but a bit boring," said novelist Monica Ali, whose new book, "Untold Story," imagines an alternate future for Princess Diana.
"It was really when Diana came on the scene that things started to change," Ali said. "She divided opinion. A lot of people adored her, some people didn't like her, but everybody had an opinion about her.
"She brought celebrity into it — for good or for ill."
"Untold Story," out now in Britain and published in the United States in June, imagines that Diana didn't die in a 1997 car crash, but faked her own death, changed her name and rebuilt her life in a small American town.
Ali, whose books include the best-selling London immigrant saga "Brick Lane," uses the novel to muse on the price of celebrity and the pressures of fame.
"Kate is not just marrying into the royal family," Ali said. "She is marrying into celebrity. She is entering the game show of the first wives' club. She'll be competing with Michelle Obama and Carla Bruni."
There's nothing new in a popular desire to read about celebrities, but over the decades our relationship with them has been transformed.
Perhaps it was the rise of the paparazzi, with their long lenses and lack of boundaries. Maybe it was the lowering of social barriers and inhibitions that began in the 1960s. Nowadays, we want to know everything.
Ellis Cashmore, a cultural studies professor at England's Staffordshire University and author of the book "Celebrity Culture," said Princess Diana was a key figure in this transition — and so, even earlier, was the late Elizabeth Taylor, with her emotional exuberance and health problems and turbulent love life.
"It wasn't the Liz Taylor we saw in the movies we were interested in — we wanted to know the real person," he said. "We became much more interested in people's private lives — or what was once their private lives."
The royal family remained largely off-limits — until Diana worked her fairy-tale magic.
The romantic 1981 wedding of Prince Charles and 20-year-old Lady Diana Spencer was followed by two sons, William and Harry. Then came bulimia, a suicide attempt and marital discord that was obvious to the world even before Diana told a TV interviewer in 1995 that "there were three of us" in the marriage — Diana, Charles and his paramour Camilla Parker-Bowles.
Throughout it all, paparazzi trailed Diana wherever she went. Her combination of glamour, personal warmth, charity work and unhappiness was gold dust.
"The humanizing touch Diana gave it was like a magic touch, a wand — the entire royal family became in one instant human," Cashmore said. "It was as if it had dawned on us that they were ordinary people just like us."
And that changed the royal family.
"Diana jolted them into understanding they weren't a private institution at all," Cashmore said. "They were public, and we — the consumers, the fans — felt a sense of entitlement. It's not just a monarchy. It's our monarchy.
"The royal family has had to come to the recognition — slowly and rather reluctantly — that they are public property."
That reluctance — and recognition — was dramatized in "The Queen," Stephen Frears' film about the aftermath of Diana's death, in which the attention-shy monarch played by Helen Mirren is galvanized into a public display of grief by populist Prime Minister Tony Blair.
In the years since Diana's death, the palace has made increasing concessions to popular hunger, including carefully staged interviews and photo opportunities with the young princes, William and Harry.
Royal officials have media-managed the wedding preparations with skill, releasing a steady drip feed of details, setting up a website, YouTube channel and Twitter account and arranging to stream the wedding ceremony live on the Internet. It is all designed to satisfy huge public curiosity while maintaining some control over the disclosures.
Most people in Britain express nothing but goodwill for William and Kate — and many sympathize with the nervousness Middleton must feel about becoming public property.
"I do think there's a boundary," said 23-year-old London trader Leah Clarke. "Every person is human and entitled to their privacy and that's a right to everyone whether you're a royal, a celebrity or whatever."
Perhaps Kate and William will be allowed their fairy-tale ending — or at least a normal existence. Ali hopes so.
"There is a very human part of us that longs for more drama," she said, "but we would like the fairy tale to work out this time around."

A satire about farmers’ suicide in rural India, Peepli [Live] is produced by Aamir Khan and directed by journalist-turned-filmmaker Anusha Rizvi. The movie doesn’t boast of any popular Bollywood star but has a host of actors from theatre and even some adivasis (tribals) from the village of Bhadwai in Madhya Pradesh.

The film features actors Omkar Das Manikpuri, Raghubir Yadav, Malaika Shenoy, Shalini Vatsa, Farrukh Jaffer, Nawazuddin Siddique and Vivek O Sharma.

Synopsis

Natha (Manikpuri) a poor farmer from Peepli village in the heart of rural India is about to lose his plot of land due to an unpaid government loan. A quick fix to the problem is the very same government's program that aids the families of indebted farmers who have committed suicide. As a means of survival Farmer Natha can choose to die!

His brother (Yadav) is happy to push him towards this unique 'honor' but Natha is reluctant. Local elections are around the corner and what might've been another unnoticed event turns into a 'cause celebre' with everyone wanting a piece of the action.

Political bigwigs, high-ranking bureaucrats, local henchmen and the ever-zealous media descend upon sleepy Peepli to stake their claim. The question on everyone's lips �" “Will he or Won't he?” As the mania escalates what will be the fate of Farmer Natha; nobody seems to care how he really feels?

Likewise, beneath the opulent, Austentatious, chic look of Aisha, one unsurprisingly stumbles upon a gem of a story flimsily told. About 200 years after it first took life on paper from the ever productive pen of Jane Austen, ‘Emma’ comes to life once again (Hollywood has already done it) on the silver screen in director Rajshree Ojha’s film Aisha, starring Sonam Kapoor as its titular protagonist. Set in the high society of Delhi, it’s the story of a rich, privileged girl with truckloads of designer costumes, lots of free time and an irrepressible fixation to play cupid between people who would rather be happy left alone. Aisha (Sonam) is surrounded by a bunch of friends who patronize her, pamper her, irritate her, peeve her, drool over her and also become a vocation for her. There’s Arjun (Abhay Deol), an investment banker, who keeps giving Aisha reality checks and is the source of unending annoyance and irritation for her. There’s the spunky Pinky (Ira Dubey), Aisha’s best friend who speaks out her mind without being obsequious. There’s the small-town girl Shefali (Amrita Puri) who’s come to Delhi to get married. Aisha takes her under her wing and tries to fix up her match with possible suitors, including Randhir Gambhir (Cyrus Sahukar) the son of a mithai baron. There’s the charming Dhruv (Arunoday Singh), a London-returned hunk for whom Aisha develops a liking. And then, there’s Aarti (Lisa Haydon), a gorgeous, sexy chick who is a close friend of Arjun, but an object of jealousy for Aisha. The first half of the film whooshes past in character introductions and also the matchmaking antics of the eponymous heroine. Aisha’s a breeze of fresh air. Her eye always on the lookout for opposite genders to make a match with. And Sonam, with her affected mannerisms, is perfectly suited to play the part. They way she simpers, puckers up her face or raises a brow has every hint of the superficiality of high class gentry. To that effect, Sonam performs well. The second half of the film becomes somewhat a mess when the castle of Aisha’s creation comes crumbling down like a house of cards and the relationships go kaput. The track between Arjun and Aarti (Abhay and Lisa) and Aisha and Dhruv (Sonam and Arunoday) isn’t as perky as could have been and the jealousy pangs that the two lead stars get out of it aren’t really plausible. In fact, the film’s pace slackens but the proceedings do speed up again after Aisha does soul searching and realizes her love for Arjun.

The dusky beauty who plays love-rival to Sonam Kapoor in the star-studded film says that it is Hrithik's moves which impressed her as she is a huge fan of Bollywood dance numbers.

“While growing up in Australia I didn't watch many Bollywood films, but the ones I watched, I loved them, especially the songs and dancing. And Hrithik Roshan is my favourite because he is such a fabulous dancer,” Lisa is quoted as saying by a news agency.

She got to see the actor's performance live after they recently shot a commercial together and Lisa, a trained ballet and salsa dancer, wants more.

Actor Sameer Soni, who was recently seen in Karan Johar's 'I Hate Luv Storys', has scripted a film.
'I have written a script for a film. In fact I had also gone to meet Karan Johar to take his view on it. When I narrated it, he quite liked it and said that I should direct it. But nothing concrete is in place regarding that matter till now,' Sameer told IANS.
When asked whether he plans to quit acting and get into direction or scriptwriting, he responded: 'Acting is my passion, I can never leave it. Yes, if someone likes this script and decides to produce it, then I would love to direct it. But I will not leave acting for anything.'

New York, April 22 (ANI): Fake boobs were once the in thing among celebs, but now even Hollywood has started to actively prohibit them.

In a recent casting notice seeking extras for the fourth instalment of "Pirates of the Caribbean", Hollywood clearly specified that actresses "must have real breasts. Do not submit if you have implants."
It went on to explain that there would be a "show and tell" boob-veracity test that involved, among other things, running.
"I think the 'Pirates' story is indicative of a larger trend in Hollywood," the New York Post quoted one female casting agent, who has been working on movies and TV shows for nearly two decades, as saying.
"Large implants, in my opinion, take the projects and the actors to a sleazier level. They become a joke," she said.
Agent Megan Foley, who has cast more than 3,000 commercials and, most recently, a James Brolin film, sees a change coming.
"I do see a trend of bodies going more natural," Foley said.
"About 10 years ago, I worked on 'Blow' with Ted Demme, and [no implants] was the main requirement for the girls. And trust me, back then, it was a tall order!" Foley added.
Danny Roth is another casting agent on the no-boob-job bandwagon.
One of his latest films, "Open House," opens at Tribeca next week, featuring an "implant-free" cast including Anna Paquin, Rachel Blanchard and Tricia Helfer.
"If you're talented, let your talent speak for you," Roth, who has offices in New York and LA, said.
"Rachel, our lead, has definitely relied just on talent. She's not well endowed.
"Personally, I think implants are indicative of something else, potentially. Insecurity, or that they're taking advice from people they shouldn't be taking advice from," he stated. (ANI)

It's a hair splitting issue. Over a thatch of hair above the upper lip, that is. John Abraham essays a cop in Vipul Shah's untitled venture, a remake of the Tamil winner 'Kaakha Kaakha'. The flick centres around a posse of police officers, all experts in battling organized crime.

And in keeping with the macho and scruffy 'look' required, Johnny Boy has been asked to show up with a stubble and… moustache.

Stubble's fine, avers J. Abbs who did sport it to gud effect in 'Jism'. The moustache, however, is a sore factor as Johnny Boy feels that he won't be able to pull it off! Meanwhile, JA has been working out to bulk up and display a more 'tougher' look.

Incidentally, Surya and Venkatesh, both sported whiskers in the Tamil and Telugu versions, respectively.

As the flick sets to roll in May, the hunky star needs to make up his starry mind. States Shah in a tabloid chat, "We are having a look test soon and will finalise the 'look' after that."

New York, April 13 (ANI): Israeli model Bar Refaeli was pictured in a variety of swimsuits as she posed for a photo shoot for a magazine with tanned and toned men of the MTV reality TV show 'Jersey Shore'.

While it is a known fact that APARTMENT is a contemporary psycho-thriller set amidst life in a metropolis, there is also another interesting tale around how director Jagmohan Mundhra aspired for some real shock to translate on screen as well.

In the film, lead actress Neetu Chandra was required to shoot a scene where she had to enter her bedroom and get startled on switching the lights. Just as the scene begun and Neetu switched on the lights, she was actually shocked to see her mom right in front of her. Neetu has been living alone since the time she has moved to Mumbai to fulfill her dreams and due to her hectic schedules she had not got a chance to visit her family.
Informs a source attached to the film, "After interrogating, Neetu got to know that while she was getting ready in her vanity, Jag Mundhra, the director of APARTMENT spotted her mom and planned the whole thing. Neetu got an actual surprise and the director got the real expression."

Neetu Chandra's on a wet footing. Hah, quite literally. Chandra, reportedly, has enacted a sensuous bathing scene in 'The Apartment'… and comparisons are being drawn between the late Smita Patil's outdoor clean up in 'Chakra' and her soapy effort in the Jagmohan Mundhra flick.

"I have been compared to Smitaji ever since I did 'Traffic Signal'," declares NC in a media talk. "I know that Smitaji has done a similar bathing scene in 'Chakra', but that was outdoors and this one is in a run down broken bathroom. Smitaji was a legend, and if I can be one per cent of what she was, my life is set!."
Chandra, however, states that she wasn't totally nervous about this watery move. "Jag sir said that he would present me aesthetically and that I could call the shots and get the scene edited out if I did not like the end results."
Query her on her family's reaction to this bold step… and Chandru asserts, "I'm only answerable to my work, and nobody else. And I take my own decisions."

Hyderabad: Breaking News! A section of media in India reported that tennis star Sania Mirza and former Pakistan cricket captain Shoaib Malik are already married in Dubai and will host a reception in Hyderabad. The media reports said that the marriage was solemnized at a private ceremony in Dubai. They further added that Sania Mirza's wedding card has only the reception date and there is no mention of nikaah. According to some sources, the hotel in Hyderabad has been booked for reception and not for nikaah. Earlier, both families said that the wedding will take place on April 15. He's riding a wave of euphoria. Actor Kabir Sadanand, the director of 'Tum Milo Toh Sahi,' is basking in the embrace of a warm reception from audiences and lavish praise from critics. His sentimental flick weaving three story tracks and illuming six fab actors has viewers lining up to sample his fare, even as they munch on the 'Popcorn'...

His sunny yellow T shirt is in synch with his temperament. Kabir Sadanand, television actor and director of 'Tum Milo Toh Sahi' is flushed with excitement inside the comfy confines of the Fourth Wall Entertainment office at suburban Mumbai. Producer Nikhil Panchamiya ("I had full faith in his script and Kabir") and Sadanand, are pleased as punch over the reactions to their joint effort.
The sensitive flick boasting of an appealing star cast: veterans Nana Patekar and Dimple Kapadia; a young fresh pair: Rehan Khan and Anjana Sukhani; and the 'Chak De' star Vidya Malavade cast alongside Suniel Shetty, has generated a positive buzz, validating Sadanand's implicit faith in his subject spotlighting three stories and six stars cast ably in their characters.
Excerpts from a chat with the director who has no plans of quitting acting…
What is your film all about?
'Tum Milo Toh Sahi' is all about people and relationships. The film is about love at different ages, which means different things to different people. Expression of love at age 14, 21, then later at 35 is different and at 60, it really redefines the entire meaning of love.
So how did you get around to writing the story of 'Tum Milo Toh Sahi'?
It is very weird, the whole thing started off when my daughter came into our life. I suddenly felt I was a transformed person. I realised becoming a father had brought about a new change which was a new form of love for me and that's why I realise love means different things to different people at different times. 'Tum Milo…' is also about that extraordinary person in all of us. It's a simple film with no special additional knowledge about love, its light, its fun. In this film you will find characters which are very much known to you. It's just that these guys do things that make them that interesting. So film is about you and me.
How long have you taken to actually write the story of the film?
The story has taken a while, coz' we did multiple scripts. Initially, when Rajen Makhijani and I started writing this film I think we went through 35 different stories which we wanted to tell because love at different ages is different. We wanted to get the essence right and wanted three stories which get intertwined after a point. It took us fairly close to six months to get the first draft ready. Subsequently, we must have done about 65 drafts.
What about actors, how did you narrow in on your choice of actors?
When the forces are correct, everything falls into place and that's why the actors of this film all fell into place. Nana Patekar said 'If you can explain your story to me in 15 minutes, then tell me'. So I narrated the story in 15 minutes… which actually lasted for about two and a half hours! Dimple Kapadia has been there right from the start, when we started writing this film she only said 'I believe in the concept, I believe in the idea and I will stand by you'. We had sent a script to Suniel Shetty, but he was very busy at that point of time, but he took time and read the script first five pages and the last five pages. In short he understood the intention of this film and agreed to do it."
Apart from these veterans, you've cast Vidya Malavade and a fresh new pair….
Rehan Khan has been supportive all through the film and I think he has done a fantastic job. I had Anjana Sukhani in mind, right from the start; I think she has lot of potential. Casting Vidya Malavade happened by chance. She is a fine actress and a pretty looking woman, but was not sure whether she would do this film, as this character is quite complex. She stands up for what she feels is right and fights back; all that struck a deep chord within her.. Basically, it was fun working with these actors and 'TMTS' couldn't be the film that it is, without my actors.
Has the film lived up to your expectations?
I would say I am satisfied, I am proud of the film that we have made. 'Tum Milo Toh Sahi' portrays life, it portrays what my heart truly speaks. There is lot of hard work which has gone in making this film. My wife said 'Filmmaking is not your right, it's a privilege and you can't take for granted'. My producer Nikhil Panchamiya said 'The film is good, it's made from heart'. So 'Tum Milo Toh Sahi' is an honest attempt which I am proud of.
Were there any interesting moments on the sets?
Every day was interesting, it was like a cat and mouse game. As we know Nana Patekar is known for his perfection and he would ask the relevance of things. So we used to have a competition as to what Nana Patekar will ask today, and most of the time we got it right. There have been many such instances, but all in good spirit and we were able to complete this film before the given period of time that we had planned.
Why did you have such a long gap since your directorial debut 'Popcorn Khao Mast Ho Jao'?
I feel that I misused my privilege as a filmmaker, though I do feel that I did work hard on my first film. Also, I believe that 'Popcorn …' was a bit ahead of its time. But I've worked harder on 'Tum Milo Toh Sahi'. The script took a while, but I think it's been worth all the work that has gone into it."
What exactly is the USP of the film?
My constant point is about love being everywhere. Every one of us experiences love at different points of time in our life and this film talks about that. This film is about you and me, it's about the extraordinary person in all of us. That really is the USP of this film is... it's a story about everyone.
Any plans of a comeback to TV?
I have not left TV, so no point in saying that I will do a comeback. I still set up shows which I believe in, I still act in shows which pay me lot of money, but I would rather prefer to do more of acting which I quite enjoy. My career started from there, so I will do both, acting and directing.
Any new film which is in the pipeline?

There is another film which we should be setting up somewhere around mid year. It's completely a different film what 'Tum Milo Toh Sahi' is, but again it's about relationships, it's about people.

Flashing a well practiced pout, Anjana Sukhani, looking sassy in her flaming red ensemble, seats herself down at a suburban Mumbai venue. Koolly patting her red hued tresses into place and batting mascara laden lashes, Sukhani beams warmly signalling you to kickstart the media chat.
An MBA degree holder turned actress, Sukhani, who's early brush with fame included a chocolate commercial with the irrepressible Amitabh Bachchan, has also showcased her acting skills in South Indian movies.
The laugh riot 'Golmaal Returns' invested her with a good measure of fame. With Fourth Wall Entertainment's 'Tum Milo Toh Sahi' produced by Nikhil Panchamiya, Sukhani is sanguine of winning approval from audiences for her spirited performance in the Kabir Sadanand helmed movie.
Succinct excerpts from the conversation…
What's your role in 'Tum Milo Toh Sahi' all about?
The character I play in the film is called 'Shaleeni'… well it is 'Shalani,' but I am addressed as 'Shaleeni' in the film. She is a Maharashtrian girl, very wannabe, very edgy, a bit rough, but a very smart character to play.
Is she a wannabe actress in the film?
No! She is not a wannabe actress, but a wannabe director. She is a college going girl so she assists somebody in direction, but she makes out to be like some chief running the whole show there. So she is a wannabe and quite a fake character.
What excited you about Shalini, as a character?
I think I liked the wannabe feeling which is something that I have not played in the last few films before. It has a lot of edginess, a lot of attitude which personally I don't carry. It is always challenging for an actor to play someone who is quite different from who they are, and this character was definitely something quite different for me.
How would you define your working experience with director Kabir Sadanand?
Kabir came very well prepared with the script, with well edged characters. As actors, we didn't had to do much except imbibe what he had written. That I'd say was the best part, because just had to read through the script and feel the character, go ahead and shoot. Kabir gives a lot of space to the actors and that's very important for an actor to be able to give their inputs as well, as to how the character is and how they should execute a certain kind of emotion. It was really nice of Kabir to take suggestions and eventually come to consensus as to what should be done and what should not be done.
Was there plenty of improvisation on the sets?
Yeah, and we also had a few arguments about my 'look' in the film. Honestly, I was not much convinced about the 'look' he had in mind for me. We had a little tiff over that, but eventually what came on screen was lovely and fitted the character really well.
So what appears on screen is a 'consensus look'?
It was a 'consensus look'. As I said that Kabir would be open to suggestion and would listen to you and eventually you will have a dialogue and come to a conclusion as to this works and this does not work. So everything was mutually agreed upon…
Did you go through an extensive workshop or rehearsal sessions prior to filming 'Tum Milo…'?
We did not have any extensive workshops, but we did go through the script a couple of times. We had reading sessions with my co actor Rehan. It was purely to get a feel of it because it was a Maharashtrian character and I had not played one before. We wanted to give it an edgy flavour to it.
Did you meet up with Maharashtrians to see how they talk or behave?
No, not really! It was a Hindi film so I did not really have to speak in Marathi. That rowdiness that had to come in the character obviously comes from the house helps who come from a Maharashtrian background, so one would observe them. I would observe her as to how she talks and how her pitch goes higher when she has to say something or mark that roughness in her voice. So no major preparation was involved, though one went observed a lot and picked up elements for the character.
Did you share a good equation with your co star Rehan Khan?
I have done a movie with him before 'Tum Milo Toh Sahi,' which was his debut film called 'Jaana'. I think the best part about Rehan is that he is extremely sincere and serious about his work. So there would be times when I would crack a joke and I would look at him and say 'God he doesn't even laugh… what is wrong with him?' But I also realised that it's the intensity he carries, because he wants to make it so badly and so much as an actor, that he doesn't want to take anything lightly. I think that's really sweet.
What exactly is the USP of 'Tum Milo Toh Sahi'?

I'd say the simplicity. These days we say that simple things are hard to find or simple emotions are difficult to deal with. The beautiful thing is that it shows love at different ages in life. At an age where there is Nana Patekar and Dimple Kapadia at 60 65, love is more about companionship and less about physical intimacy. At a level where Suniel and Vidya are married, it's about keeping up the love that was there. You are trying to balance your work and personal life and dealing with the rise in the external pressures that are stressing your relationship. And at a college level, it is more about your first crush being your eternal love. So how do you deal with those emotions at different ages in life is what 'Tum Milo Toh Sahi' is all about.

Abu Dhabi, April 7 (IANS/WAM) The London Symphony Orchestra enthralled the audience at the Abu Dhabi Festival with two superb concerts featuring world-class composers.
Orchestra conductor Kristjan Jarvi Tuesday night led a rousing performance of symphonic dances from Leonard Bernstein and Sergei Rachmaninov, as well as a gorgeous rendition of George Gershwin's unique Rhapsody in Blue by pianist Wayne Marshall.

The second performance featured eminent British conductor Sir Colin Davis and violinist Arabella Steinbacher. The violinist was the evening's featured soloist and was ably supported by the orchestra whose performances led to thunderous applause inside the packed palace auditorium here.

'It was an extraordinary pleasure to have the London Symphony Orchestra perform such a superb concert for us. Mumbai, April 7 (IANS) Priyanka Chopra has just started shooting for director Vishal Bharadwaj's 'Saat Khoon Maaf' and says it will be a different movie.
'It's too early to speak about 'Saat Khoon Maaf' but it will be a very unique film for sure,' Priyanka told reporters here Tuesday after launching the denim brand Levi's Change your World campaign at Grand Hyatt hotel.

Commenting upon the reports that she rejected Hollywood offers for 'Saat Khoon Maaf', she said: 'I can associate only with the film I am committed to and I was committed to Vishal Bharadwaj....'

Priyanka was more than happy to collaborate with Bharadwaj again after 'Kaminey'.

'To work with Vishal again is a great opportunity because I think he is one of India's most celebrated filmmakers. He has shown confidence in me, so I feel a bit nervous and anxious as well.'

Based on Ruskin Bond's story 'Susanna's Seven Husbands' about a femme fatale who bumps off her seven spouses, 'Saat Khoon Maaf' also stars Naseeruddin Shah, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Irrfan Khan.

Priyanka, who replaces actor Akshay Kumar as a brand ambassador of Levi's and even as the host of the reality show 'Fear Factor - Khatron Ke Khiladi'', describes it as a sheer coincidence.

'I would say it's a complete coincidence,' said Priyanka who is looking forward to hosting the adventure reality show. 'I am very excited about 'Khatron Ke Khiladi' because it's a perfect show for me. I have seen its last two seasons. It was one of my favourite shows. It would be so much fun to actually host the show.'

'I'm NOT directing anything right now guys! Not equipped to do so! Maybe quite a few years from now. In the meantime happy in front of the camera,' she wrote on micro-blogging site Twitter.

Reports suggested that Lara was planning to direct an independent film and has been working on the script for two years. The film was said to go on floors by July.

How do you avoid a superiority complex when you have a dad who is invited by Barack Obama for dinner?
I’m tremendously proud of both my parents, but my sense of self-worth is entirely independent of them both. I’ve never believed in reflected glory — it’s always been a priority for me to make my own way. Since childhood, I’ve been a pretty confident girl and willing to take chances. I’m sure both of them had a lot to do with instilling that courage and self-assurance in me. But I’m not the kind of person who would ever have a superiority complex.

Considering that your Rang Rasiya and another film — Makara Manju — deal with the life of Raja Ravi Varma, does competition bother you?
Not at all. I know that Rang Rasiya is extraordinary and absolutely unlike any other film. Secondly, I’ve always been very positive as a person — it takes a lot for me to feel insecure. I am vulnerable only when it comes to the people I love. Nothing else in the world — neither the competition nor the glitz — is important enough to get stressed, is it?

Recently, an article mentioned that Kareena Kapoor had wanted the lovemaking scenes from Kurbaan deleted from the print that was meant for her mom. Did you ever harbour such thoughts about the daring scenes of yours from Rang Rasiya?
Not even for a second did I feel that way. I’m proud of Ketan Mehta’s important and outstanding film, and loved playing Sugandha. But yes, there is one moment in the film in which the muse inspires the artist by posing for him. I am quite a private and shy girl and so, making the decision to accept the role was difficult. In fact, the biggest help in making that decision came from my family — both my parents felt that the scene in question is the emotional and political heart of the story (the Censor Board agreed!) and that the film would not be true to itself without it. In a film dealing with censorship, how can I justify censoring myself? So, by the time I did the scene, I was fully in character. I was not the shy girl Nandana, but the iconoclast Sugandha, who broke all the rules of her time by the sheer power of her extraordinary courage and conviction. Why would I wish to hide any aspect of Sugandha’s personality?

New Delhi, March 26 (IANS) Next year, 2011, is going to be the year of sequels in Bollywood with as many as five blockbusters getting ready with the next instalment of their stories -- 'Race 2', 'Dhoom 3', 'Wanted 2', 'Partner 2' and 'Don 2'.
Like the 2008 hit action 'Race', 'Race 2' is also directed by Abbas-Mustan and produced under the Tips Films banner. The original, which explored themes of sibling rivalry, betrayal and passion, starred Anil Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Bipasha Basu and Katrina Kaif in pivotal roles.

Except Bipasha Basu, the directors plan to retain the same cast for the sequel. It was reported that Bipasha would be replaced by another actress, although nothing is official at the moment.

The other sequel in the works is 'Partner 2'. The original starring Govinda, Salman Khan, Katrina and Lara Dutta released in 2007.

'Partner 2' was supposed to release this year, but the shooting dates got postponed till 2011. The sequel will retain its original cast.

Boney Kapoor, producer of the Salman Khan-starrer 'Wanted', is also planning to launch the film's second part next year.

'Wanted', a remake of Telugu film 'Pokiri', was directed by southern dancing star Prabhu Deva and also starred Ayesha Takia.

The third instalment of action film 'Dhoom' will also make an appearance next year. While 'Dhoom' released in 2004, 'Dhoom 2' hit screens in 2006. Now, after a gap of five years, 'Dhoom 3' is expected to release in 2011.

It was reported that Aditya Chopra will himself direct 'Dhoom 3', which will have some alterations in the star cast.

Later in the year releases 'Don 2', a sequel to Farhan Akhtar's remake of the 1978 film 'Don' (2006).

The crime thriller, directed, co-written and co-produced by Farhan Akhtar, will star Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Arjun Rampal, Ishaa Koppikar, Boman Irani and Om Puri all reprising their roles from the previous film.

Going by the list, it seems that audiences will have only sequels to choose from the plate in 2011.

Mumbai, March 26 (IANS) Aparna Sen, whose long-awaited film 'The Japanese Wife' will soon be seen in the theatres, says she couldn't trust anyone but old favourite Rahul Bose to play Snehamoy, the Sundarbans schoolteacher who falls in love with a woman he's never met.
'To play Snehamoy, I needed an actor who would give me 200 percent,' Sen, who gets back to direction after '15 Park Avenue', told IANS in an interview.

'What is very difficult about Snehamoy's character is that he is a humdrum little man and yet he has something extremely extraordinary in that humdrum life. He has a Japanese wife whom he has never met. The bizarreness of the whole premise is utterly charming. It was difficult to trust anyone with that character except Rahul.'

After 'Mr. & Mrs. Iyer' (2002) and '15 Park Avenue' (2005), this is Sen's third film in a row with Rahul.

'You know what happens... a kind of understanding establishes and then it becomes very easy to work with that same actor. Many directors have done this. Satyajit Ray had used Soumitra Chatterjee in so many films,' she said.

'The Japanese Wife', based on a book by Kunal Basu, revolves around Snehamoy, a schoolteacher in the interiors of Sundarbans, West Bengal, and Migaya (Chigusa Takaku). They start off as pen pals, fall in love and even get married through letters. They don't meet each other even through 15 years of marriage.

Prior to 'The Japanese Wife', the story of every film the award-wining director had directed was her own.

'See, I would not be able to do anyone's story because I have always done film on my own story. In this case Kunal Basu and me... our mindset was similar. When I read the story, I used to often discuss it with Kunal. I used to send him my script at certain points. We talked over phone, exchanged SMSes, etc.

'I found it very easy to remain true to his story while I was fleshing it out. The film, of course, has its nuances. For instance, he didn't give the widow (played by Raima Sen in the film) a name in his story - as if it was a trivial character. In the film, I have given her a name and importance to her character too,' said Sen.

Sen's story has some resemblance to Anjan Dutta's Bengali play 'Priyo Bondu', where two classmates start communicating through letters. They continue even when they are middle-aged. In due course, they realise they are in love with each other but prefer to maintain the relationship over letters.

Asked to comment on that, she said: 'I have also heard 'Priyo Bondhu'. There they have met each other. In 'The Japanese Wife', they don't meet until the end of the story.'

Though she has earlier acted in her directorial ventures like 'Paroma' and 'Paromitar Ek Din', Sen now finds it difficult. And that is why, she said, she roped in Moushumi Chatterjee to play Maashi in the 'The Japanese Wife'.

'You know it's too much trouble directing and acting in the same film. Even in 'Iti Mrinalini', I have acted. But here I thought Moushumi is far more suitable than me.

'Moushumi has a very good sense of timing that makes her a very good actor also. Her eyes sparkle all the time. I wanted someone very vibrant and she was the only person I could think of. Where Rahul and Raima are very shy, don't talk too much, she is like a contrast to all of them,' she added.

Sen gave instructions to Japanese actress Chigusa Takaku through an interpreter.

'She can't speak a word of English so I directed her through interpreters. I don't know Japanese. Even when she came India for shooting, we had to keep interpreters for her. A girl studying Japanese in Santiniketan used to stay with her like a shadow. I was scared... what if she falls sick in the middle of the night, she won't be able to convey that to anyone.'

A couple of tries later... she got it right, even as a young Khan composed himself and producer Nikhil Panchamiya beamed a relieved grin.
The friendly barbs hurled at Sukhani later… are another matter altogether.

He's 'Wanted', she's 'Ready'. Reportedly, Deepika Padukone who was supremely eager to be cast alongside Salman Khan in Anees Bazmee's forthcoming flick has been elbowed out… in favour of Asin!
The Bazmee flick, a remake of a South blockbuster 'Ready', will showcase the 'London Dreams' duo, once again. Although, Vipul Shah's flick didn't exactly set the cash registers ringing, it helped to forge a good palship between Khan and Asin.
Reportedly, it was Khan who convinced Bazmee and producer Bhushan Kumar (T series) to lassoe in Asin as the female lead for the romantic comedy, readying to roll in June.
Surely strange, considering SK was all over the town gushing to media types about how keen he was on pairing up with Dippy onscreen!

'Kites' team starts new trend, premieres music on radio

Mumbai, March 24 (IANS) The music of Hrithik Roshan's eagerly awaited film 'Kites' has been launched and this is the first time a movie album has premiered on a radio channel.
'I think, this is for the first time there is a music premiere happening on a radio channel, which is great. I am hoping for some good feedback,' Hrithik told reporters at the Radio Mirch studio here Thursday.

There has been a lot of buzz about the film and finally the promotion has started.

Asked how different the promotions will be from other movies, Hrithik said: 'I am not the marketing guy, so I am clueless. I am just an actor and am happy doing acting. I don't think on those terms.

'They (marketing team) must be doing something to promote the film. They will tell me what to do and I will do whatever I can do.'

Directed by Anurag Basu, 'Kites' will be released in both Hindi and English. The film is about two lovers and their thrilling journey filled with precious moments and unexpected betrayal.

Mexican actress Barbara Mori, who plays Hrithik's love interest in the movie, is expected to come down for the promotion activities of the movie set for a May 21 release.

'Yes, I think she will be coming down on the 20th of next month and help in promoting the film,' said Hrithik.

Kangana Ranaut also features in the movie, but she has not been highlighted so far.

'I really am not the person who decides on promotion and marketing. The film is a love story between Barbara and me. The idea to project the first promos of the film comes from the director's vision, what he wants to tell the audiences and that's how the promos are made,' said Hrithik.

Asked whether he has flown kites, Hrithik said: 'Yes, I remember papa used to teach me. We used to live on the 13th floor of a building... I was too small and I used to wonder that the kites seems so light but when it's flying, it's really hard to hold the 'manja' (string). I remember that really clearly because I could not hold it and it used to keep flying away from my hand.'

The special outfit, fitted with micro computer circuitry, was created for him in Los Angeles and SRK has unforgettable memories associated with it's fabrication.

The winning 'MNIK' star was required to stand in a 12x3 chamber, when the warm latex liquid would be slowly released until it reached his neck. Once the mould solidified, it was slit from the side and gently peeled off his celeb body. The process took close to an hour. A concealed zipper was used to join the two separated halves together.

Says a close insider, "The body suit is meant to provide both protection and flexibility. It acts as a tough exterior to minimise external injury, while it is flexible enough not to hamper movement while performing stunts."

Industry sources aver that the B town couple, last spotted in 'U Me aur Hum', was approached by 20th Century Fox to star in the Hindi version. One day two challenged each other on tongue twisters. Ajay challenged Asin to speak Hindi tongue twister at one go, While Asin would challenge Ajay to English tongue twisters." Little Ashes' gay sex scene was uncomfortable, says 'straight' Robert Pattinson

New York, Mar 23 (ANI): 'Twilight' star Robert Pattinson has said that he is 'straight' and was quite 'uncomfortable' doing gay sex scenes in "Little Ashes."

In the art house film, Pattinson plays Spanish artist Salvador Dali, who embarks on a sexual relationship with writer Frederico Garcia Lorca (played by Javier Beltran).
"We were both straight, but he was Spanish, so much more confident about being naked and stuff," the New York Daily News quoted Pattinson as telling London's Times.
However, the British heartthrob admitted that love scenes could be just as "awkward" with a girl.
For example, he said that for his on-screen romance with Emilie de Ravin in "Remember Me" was a closed set.
And despite all the precautions Pattinson took for the film - including "a little patch on your privates" - his sex scenes didn't go quite as smoothly as he had hoped.
"I'd spent so long taping [the patch] round myself and then literally it falls off within one second and it's taped to the sheet. You realize the whole crew are looking directly at your b--- crack," said Pattinson. (ANI)

Love Sex Aur Dhokha Movie Review

t's dark, distressing and deeply disturbing. But it's also the reality of the times we are living in. Dibakar Banerjee is no director with a penchant for candy floss cinema. His cinema is hard, riveting and deeply compelling. He can make you laugh as well as cringe in your seat with the hideous reality on screen. Bannerjee does not believe in pulling his punches.

The characters portrayed are all real; people you meet everyday. Kudos to the actors for pulling off such stunning performances, all of them. His execution of the film is path breaking. He has taken a risk and it has worked. Hand-held camera, jerky movements, low light indicated on the far left corner of the handy cam... it has it own charm.

Banerjee has depicted his story in three slots with three pair of actors. First up is Love. A final year student Rahul (Anshuman Jha) is wrapping up his project, a short film. He falls in love with his heroine Shruti. All seems hunky-dory as the two elope because her father has already arranged her marriage. They get married and she musters courage to inform her father, a hotheaded businessman with an equally hotheaded son. Father coaxes them to return saying it's okay. The young lovers, oblivious of the world and the wickedness around them have something deadly in store for them. Dhoka!

Next follows Sex. A young, tech-savvy camera agency executive Adarsh (Raj Kumar Yadav) has installed spy cams in an upcoming mall. He has taken a loan he cannot repay. His friend encourages him to woo a salesgirl Rashmi (Neha Chauhan) he does not fancy, but who he thinks will be easy prey, catch the 'action' on camera and sell it for Rs 40,000. The entire process is like a reality show with Adarsh displaying all the tackiness of an uncultured youth and Rashmi falling for his 'concern'. The end here is deeply disturbing.

Final act, Dhoka. A young starlet Naina (Arya Devdutta) wants to make it to the music video of reigning pop artiste Loki Local (Herry Tangri). Loki promises her the role of a lifetime for a 'bout on the couch'. She succumbs; he decides to cast a Russian instead. Cheated, she attempts suicide where a 'sting journalist' who too has survived a series of suicide attempts saves her. Prabhat (Amit Sial) hits on the idea of catching Local on camera doing the 'act' and please his ever-demanding boss, as well as help Naina gets even.

What is very smart is the way Banerjee weaves the lives of all three couples to make it one smart movie. At first, it appears as three separate issues but the end surprises. Intelligent cinema.

It real and it's scary. Very scary. LSD is not for the faint-hearted.

While Oscar winning director James Cameron was in the country recently for a conclave very few were lucky enough to meet him. Superstar Aamir Khan and the 'thinker's actor' Abhay Deol -were lucky enough to bring in their birthdays with the director of blockbuster films TITANIC and AVATAR fame but the only lucky dame to have met him was the gorgeous Asin.Asin, who was present at the conclave to represent the industry's youth and speak on the subject of Reality v/s Idealism, is the only Indian actress to have met James Cameron and even spoke to him at length during the evening that followed.
Reveals a source present, "Asin and James were both present to bring in Aamir's birthday and they had a great time. Aamir even joked to Asin asking her to put a single candle on his cake as opposed to 45 of them. They had a quiet dinner together and discussed cinema and the likes. James Cameron even pulled Asin's legs to the extent that James was asking her for her autograph throughout the evening"
We come to hear that Asin being the great conversationalist that she is jokingly asked the world renowned director if he wanted to break into Bollywood to which the witty director replied, "Sure, why not but on one condition -no song and dance for me in my movie."
